Some businesses are built on spreadsheets and strategy decks. Yunion Noodles was built on something far more powerful: a shared love of good food, a deep respect for tradition and a belief that fresh noodles could bring people together.

Since 1989, our proud Western Australian company has been crafting authentic fresh noodles right here in Perth and today Yunion is a household name trusted by generations of families, restaurants and home cooks across WA.

It Started with Four Friends and a Simple Idea

Cast your mind back to 1989. Perth was a very different city and finding truly fresh, authentic Chinese noodles was harder than it sounds. Most noodles available on the market were imported, frozen and frankly, they just didn't taste the way they were supposed to.

Four friends saw the gap and decided to do something about it. Drawing on traditional recipes and time honoured techniques passed down through generations, they set up a small operation on Main Street in Osborne Park with one clear goal: to make noodles that tasted like home. Not home as in "convenience food". Home as in the warmth of a kitchen filled with steam, the smell of fresh dough and the kind of comfort that only a proper home cooked meal can bring!

Quality and Service: A Motto That Actually Means Something

From day one, Yunion operated with a simple motto: Quality and Service. It might sound straightforward, but in practice it meant never cutting corners, never compromising on ingredients, and always putting the customer first.

That commitment paid off. Through hard work and genuine dedication, the business grew steadily, and in 1997 Yunion moved into its current premises in Baden Street, Osborne Park, where it continues to operate today. The address may have changed but the standards didn't.

Every single day, Yunion's team shows up to make fresh noodles using the same traditional techniques that started it all. The noodles are made fresh daily, which is something you can genuinely taste in every bite. There's a texture, a bounce and a flavour to fresh noodles that no frozen or dried product can replicate.

More Than Noodles: A Symbol of Connection

The name "Yunion" isn't just a clever play on words. It reflects the heart of what this company has always been about: unity, community, and the idea that food is one of the most powerful ways humans connect with each other.

Think about the role noodles play in Asian culture. They're served at birthdays to represent long life. They're central to New Year celebrations as a symbol of good fortune. They bring families to the table, friends together in hawker stalls, and generations into the same kitchen.

Yunion has always understood that when you buy a packet of their noodles, you're not just buying dinner. You're buying into a tradition, a culture and a moment of togetherness at your very own table.

Proudly WA Made and It Shows

One of the things that sets Yunion apart from many other noodle brands is that everything is made right here in Western Australia. We use quality Australian ingredients, we're certified by the Buy West Eat Best program and we're a local business that has been part of the Perth community for over three decades.

On top of that, Yunion holds Halal certification through Halal WA, making our products accessible to Perth's broad and diverse community. We also sell products that are vegan friendly, which means that whether you're cooking a classic beef stir fried noodle or a plant-based noodle bowl, there's a Yunion product for you.

The range itself is impressively broad. From thick, chewy Hokkien noodles perfect for stir-fries, to delicate Wonton Egg noodles, hearty Shanghai noodles, and Japanese noodles, plus wonton skins, dumpling skins, and even crispy noodles for snacking and salads. There is genuinely something for every occasion.

Three Decades On, the Dream Is Still Fresh

What's remarkable about Yunion's story is not just that they we've survived for 35+ years in a competitive food industry. It's that we've done it without losing sight of what made us special in the first place.

The same commitment to freshness. The same respect for authentic flavour. The same belief that a great noodle can turn a Tuesday night dinner into something worth remembering.

In a world full of mass produced and heavily processed food, there is something refreshing about a company that still uses traditional techniques and still measures success not in shareholder returns but in the satisfaction of a customer who picks up a packet and says, "This tastes exactly like home."
